Charities Project August – Axarquia Animal Rescue

Our chosen charity for August is the Axarquia Animal Rescue group based in Axarquia, Malaga Province, Spain. Here is more about them:

“We are an organisation of volunteers. Our aims are to rescue and re-home abandoned animals. This often involves feeding them until we are able to win their trust, capture them and find them forever homes. We aim to educate regarding the spaying/neutering of animals. We cover all necessary food/vet bills for all animals in the care of our foster carers and in other cases of hardship where funds allow. We are totally dependant on our own fund raising efforts and are indebted to the people, including Oxford College, who support us.

Recently we have had an epic rescue of a Boxer dog that took 8 days and a kitten that was trapped in an inaccessible area and took several days but was finally rescued after many unsuccessful attempts.”
