Charity Project – ADOPTAME

Charity Project

Adoptame is an association of volunteers in Paraguay. Their mission is to help ” the most forgotten member of society, animals”. From its beginnings in March 2009 in Asunción, Adoptame has made small but significant changes to the lives of many animals. Adoptame helps all types of animals, but the majority of the animals that they deal with are cats and dogs.

Their main goals are to solve the problem of street animals. They do this by creating awareness of the issue and promoting responsible animal ownership, which includes spaying and neutering.

At the core of their beliefs, Adoptame focus on animals that are most at risk. These animals are rescued, rehabilitated whenever possible and adopted into loving and caring homes. During this process, the animals must stay at volunteer foster homes or in vet clinics.

Costs can be significant and because Adoptame isn’t funded by the government, this means that all the costs are covered with donations from kind hearted people.  Adoptame is committed to solving the problem of street animals, which is why they make sure that all of the animals that we give for adoption are spayed or neutered before being adopted. Its important that this is carried out before being taken to their forever home, because this is the most effective and humane way to end animal abandonment and overpopulation.
