Introduction

This diploma is designed to explore Flower Remedies. You will explore what benefits and usefulness flowers are in relation to remedies made from them. You will learn to develop new skills and improve on existing ones. On the course you will study a variety of different areas from the role remedies play in everyday life and how helpful people find them.

The course encourages the development of using flower remedies into daily lives if it helps with the aid of healing and support.

This course consists of Ten Units and is a qualification awarded by Oxford Learning College, in its own right; with the quality assurance of a leading awarding body (CIE Global) that hallmarks this professional qualification.

Assessment Objectives (AO)

AO: 1

Students must select and demonstrate clearly relevant knowledge and understanding through the use of evidence, examples and correct language and terminology appropriate to the course of study. This assessment, involves two written assignments: one halfway through the course and following the final unit. Both are assessed and graded by the assigned tutor, according to college rocedures.

AO: 2

Students must critically evaluate and justify a point of view through the use of evidence and reasoned argument. Students can include evidence in different formats to support their written work such as documentation or images to support their course remembering Confidentiality and Data Protection.

Quality of Written Communication (QWC)

In addition, OLC require students’ to produce written material in English, candidates must: ensure that text is legible and that spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPG) are accurate so that meaning is clear; select and use a form and style of writing appropriate to studying a complex subject matter; organise information clearly and coherently, using specialist vocabulary when appropriate and Harvard referencing of citation and sources. In this Specification, SPG will be assessed in all tutor marked assignments (TMAs)

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Entry Requirement

Entry to this Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma requires that potential students have gained GCSE/IGCSE or equivalent qualifications and have, good English oral, reading and writing skills.

Advice on enrolment and guidance of prior learning (APL) can be obtained through out contact centre. The course is a rolling programme and can be started at any point in the year. Successful students can go on to Higher Education, including remaining as students at OLC to complete courses in our portfolio of higher awards.

All students must be aged 16 or over.

Assessment

The coursework is assessed through continuous assessment with no formal exit examinations.

Study Hours

Approximately: 200 hours of personal study time for the entire course is recommended. All of which is supported by the OLC Course Tutor, who we greatly encourage students to access support from throughout their course.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 1: What are Flower Remedies

In this unit you will learn the background of flowers in relation to remedies useful to the human body. You will research a variety of different flowers and gain knowledge of how they are used to create lotions and oils which help the body in may different ways. At the end of this unit you will have discovered the benefits of medicines including alternative medicines and how are they used.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 2: Dr Edwards Bach’s Contribution

Within this unit you will explore who Dr Bach is, his background and his relationship to such remedies. You will discover his experiment, observations and deductions as well as scientific experiments and findings and how the relate to such remedies included within this unit.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 3: The Healers and the Helpers

There are 12 healers which you will learn about during this unit. You again will refer to Dr Bach’s work here. You will gain evidence of faults, virtues, moods, classification and remedy. At the end of this unit you will be able to explain about the seven helpers also.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 4: Types and Groups

Here you will discover nineteen remedies and type remedies. You will learn and review the five flower remedies such as rock rose, clematis, cherry plum to name a few. You will learn how these flowers are used to make such remedies and how they are used in relation to stress, depression and also other personal problems.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 5: The 38 Essences

In this unit you will learn the ingredients used to make remedies such as Agrimony and Aspen to name a few of the 38. You will learn how they cover pain, fear, how the essence helps to make a person feel and appear to others. You will gain an understanding of why they appear interesting to use and their uses. At the end of the unit you will be able to recall some of the essences and explain a situation for each.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 6: Systems, Dosage and Strength

You will explore the presentation of remedies such as how they develop. You will look at a variety of countries or origin and how certain countries use their own plants for remedies also. Through this unit you will review the creating techniques and implementations including the ‘Sun Method’ and boiling method. A great range of methods to learn and research further.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 7: Repertory

How you review and see remedies will be more specific within this unit as you will discover the moods and remedies and how they are related. You will learn how different flowers and plants are used and contain a different sensation such as Cherry Plum is a fear of metal and Holly is regarding the hatred. A very interesting unit to the course.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 8: Interviewing and Questionnaires

As you work through this unit you will gain understanding of general overview of remedies, you will understand the questioning of clients to gather an understanding of any allergies or queries they have about using flower remedies.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 9: Special Circumstances

This unit is devoted to babies, children, pets and owners. Through this unit you will discover which remedies are workable for each of the various circumstances. You will gain knowledge of plot essences, personal control and alternative remedies. You will review remedies designed for post birth, pregancncy, babies, under 16’s.

Accredited Level 3 Flower Remedies Diploma Unit 10: Care and Storage

In this final unit you will cover how to correctly store and care for remedies as well as how to administer the medicine such as by mouth, what to avoid after a certain period of time, using correct storage for medicines and general questions and answers. A great recap of this unit which links with the rest of the course.
