A Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Development is an in-depth study of what qualities are required to work in the field of childcare. It investigates child development from pre-conception up to 7 years of age.
The course begins with the study of genetics, embryology and foetal development before moving on to the anatomy and physiology of the child, and then through to growth and care, as well as language and speech development. The study of the development of cognitive skills and learning through play are also considered before concluding with looking at the many job opportunities there are in childcare, from nurseries to schools or to looking after children in one’s own home

In addition to the various counselling approaches, various working models and theories specific to Child & Adolescent Counselling will be explored, as well as behavioural, psychosocial strategies and reflective practice.
